Book explores the Métro de Montréal | Arts
“Montrealers have stopped looking at their Métro,” John Martins-Manteiga, author of the new book and curator of the Dominion Modern collection, said the other day, when I caught up with him before the Métro book launch at INabstracto, a gallery of modern design on Queen Street West in Toronto. The gallery’s window displayed one of the Métro’s iconic orange moulded plastic seats, along with a model of the MR-63, the first Montreal subway car, which, Martins-Manteiga mentioned breathlessly, “has never before left Quebec.”
